Frances Ruey Sanders, 85, of Catlin, passed away at 1:25 a.m. Monday, August 13th, 2012 at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center. Frances was born on January 31st, 1927, to Clint and Milla (Stanford) Logan in Rural Louisville, Illinois. She married Merret B. Sanders on June 12th, 1949, in Louisville, Illinois. He survives. She is also survived by son- Kenneth (Dianne) Sanders of Catlin; daughter- Elaine (Greg) Newton of Ft. Worth, Texas; sister- Harriet Esther Logan of Catlin; grandchildren- Sarah (Andrew) Day, Bradley Chrostowski and Brett Sanders all of Texas and Kristen (Mike) Strunga of Catlin. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister- Aleta Swingle. Frances accepted Jesus Christ as her savior on March 6th, 1943. She graduated from Louisville High School in 1944 and attended the University of Illinois, where she received her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Education. Frances taught in high schools in Louisville, Kinderhook and Shelbyville, Illinois, as well as Sparks Business College. The Sanders family relocated in 1973 to Catlin, Illinois. She worked at Lakeview School of Nursing, Sanders-Booth Real Estate and Danville Area Community College from which she retired in 1992. Frances enjoyed helping as needed at First Baptist Church in Danville, since becoming a member in 1973 and the challenges of DACC students. A celebration of the life of Frances Ruey Sanders will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church in Danville, with Pastor Paul Rebert officiating. Burial will follow the service at Danville National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, a Life Celebration Home.
