Frances Peggy Holycross

Frances "Peggy" Holycross, 82, of Covington, Indiana passed away at St. Elizabeth Health Care in Lafayette, Indiana on Wednesday, March 23, 2016. Peggy was born May 25, 1933 in Covington, Indiana, the daughter of Robert and Emma Lorene (Hale) Knecht. Peggy married Floyd Holycross on June 27, 1952, he preceded her in death on March 4, 2007. Peggy is survived by one daughter; Brenda Holycross, two grandsons; Shawn (Erin) Baldwin and Scott (Rebecca) Holycross, six great-grandchildren; Coleton, Avery, Emma, Paxton, Raylon and Camden and one brother; James "Jim" (Sharon) Knecht and several nieces and nephews. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one daughter in 2004; Cynthia Elaine Charles and one brother; Robert "Bob" Knecht. Peggy enjoyed making cakes, crocheting, quilting, knitting, going fishing and watching westerns and her soaps. She also attended Mount Carmel Baptist Church every Sunday and read her bible every day. Most of all she loved spending time with her family especially her grandsons. A celebration of Peggy's life will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2016 at 2:00 pm est. at Sunset's Covington Chapel with Steve Nelson officiating. A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2016 from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm est. Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery following the service.
