GEORGETOWN - Frances Lucille Hughes, 94, of Georgetown, went to be with the Lord at 6:40am, Wednesday, July 19th, 2006, at Pleasant Meadows Christian Village in Chrisman. Lucille was born on June 19th, 1912, in Georgetown the daughter of Claude E. and Permilia Kazia (Canaday) Galyen. She was united in marriage to George Herbert Hughes on February 11th, 1932, in Georgetown. He preceded her in death on February 15th, 1981. Those who miss her dearly include: her children, Marilyn (Speed) Henschen of Goreville, IL, Phyllis (James) Ross of Georgetown, Janice Jones of Russell, KY, Rodney (Sara) Hughes of Georgetown, Dennis (Carolyn) Hughes of Goreville, IL, Marsha (Ted) Byerly of Tilton, Stephen (Donna) Hughes of Georgetown, Larry (Judy) Hughes of Goreville, IL, and Gregory (Rhonda) Hughes of Bismarck; her 33 grandchildren; her 78 great grandchildren; her 28 great-great grandchildren; her sisters, Claudia Duell, Elizabeth Banta, both of Georgetown, and Betty Richards of Statesboro, GA; and many nieces and nephews as well as extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, her three brothers, and one sister. Lucille was a loving homemaker and cherished her family as it continued to grow. She enjoyed her garden and tending to her flowers. She liked to read in her spare time. Lucille was a devoted member of the First Church of Christ in Georgetown. She was loved and honored by everyone whose life she touched. She will be dearly missed. A celebration of Lucilles life will be held at 10:00am, Monday, July 24th, 2006, at the First Church of Christ in Georgetown. Steve Rutter will officiate. A gathering of family and friends will be held at the Church from 2:00pm to 8:00pm on Sunday, July 23rd, 2006. Memorial tributes may be made in Lucilles name to donors choice. Arrangements are being handled by Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home.
