Frances L. Dowers

Fairmount- Frances Louise Dowers passed away at 3:10 PM on Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at Vermillion Manor Nursing Home in Danville. She was born April 1, 1927 in Cleveland, Ohio to Frank and Marguerite Brinkley Doyle. She married Pearl William Dowers, Jr. on October 27, 1945. Surviving Frances are her husband Bill and three children Jim (Sandy) Dowers, Sharon Hall (Bill Houpt), and Barbara (Bill) Gall. Five grandchildren also survive Frances. They are Allen Gall of Vernon Hills, Illinois, Rachel Hall (Dustin Howes) of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Sarah Hall (Chris Harpst) of Champaign, Dan Hall of Chapel Hill, North Carolina and Ben Dowers of Danville. Francis was a devoted wife and an affectionate and kind mother. She worked as a journeywoman in the printing trade for 27 years. She enjoyed reading, quilting, fishing and camping. Visitation for Frances Dowers will be held from 10am-12pm on Saturday, August 28, 2010 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville. A private funeral service will be held for family at a later time. Memorials may be made to the Danville Public Library or Holy Family Episcopal Church.
