Frances 'Kay' Sanders

Frances "Kay" Sanders, 74, of Georgetown joined the Lord at 3:30am, Monday, May 18, 2015, at Presence USMC, Danville. She was born on September 27, 1940, the daughter of Richard and Florence (Crippin) Wilson. On April 22, 1962, Kay married Joe Sanders of Georgetown. Joe and Kay had two daughters, La-Zann Quintana and Lori Key. They had four grandchildren, Thomas Quintana II, Joseph David Quintana, Mason and Mary Key. She was preceded in death by her father, mother, brother, husband, and her faithful companion, Sammy. Kay was the former owner of Joe's Sandwich Shop Restaurant. She was employed at the Secretary of States Drivers License Services prior to her retirement. Kay was very involved with the City of Georgetown, serving as the current Mayor and City Council Member. She was a member of the American Legion Dornblaser Post #203 Women's Auxiliary of Georgetown. Kay enjoyed spending time with her family and her very best friend, Evelyn Seilhymer. Kay looked forward each year to the annual "Old Hags Party". Kay will be sadly missed by her family and friends. The family would like to extend a special Thank You' for the kindness and care she received at Presence USMC. A Memorial Service will be held at 6pm, Wednesday, May 20, 2015, at Sunset's Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, Georgetown, with Phil Miller officiating. Visitation will be 4pm-6pm Wednesday prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given in her name to American Legion Dornblaser Post #203 Women's Auxiliary. Immediately following the service, everyone is welcome to join her family for food and fellowship at the American Legion Dornblaser Post #203.
