Frances Jeannie Bann

Frances Jeannie Bann, 73 of Catlin, passed away at 2:35pm Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at Presence USMC, Danville. She was born December 14, 1942 in Danville, the daughter of Robert K. and Kathryn {Gress} Johnson. Frances married James Hubert Bann, Sr. on November 16, 1963 in Westville. He preceded her in 2008. She will be missed by: her three children, Jamie Lynn Bann of Catlin, James (Angi) Bann, Jr. of Jacksonville, Al, and John Bann of Catlin; two brothers, David (Marti) Johnson and John (Patty) Johnson both of Georgetown; three grandchildren, Austin James Bann, Evan Alexander Bann, and Carson Montgomery Bann, all of Jacksonville, Al. Frances was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and two sisters. Frances had worked at the former Vermilion Manor Nursing Home in the dietary department. She enjoyed cooking, reading, and working crossword puzzles. Most of all she had an unrelenting passion for her three grandsons. As per her wishes, Frances will be cremated and a celebration of her life will be at 2:00pm Sunday, July 24, 2016 at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel, 414 S. State St. Westville, IL. Visitation will be held one hour prior to her service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery at a later date. Memorials in Frances's name can be made to the American Diabetes Foundation.
