Frances Dettman

Frances Lorraine Dettman, 86, of Danville, passed away at 5:25 a.m. Wednesday, April 30, 2008 at Vermilion Manor Nursing Home. Frances was born on December 7, 1921 in Danville, the daughter of Edward J. and Mabel (Hartman) LaMore. She married Thomas Louis Dettman on March 14, 1942 in Danville. He preceded her in death on October 3, 2000. She is survived by her daughter- Cheryl Rosenberger of Danville; daughter-in-law- Brenda (Dave) Smith of Morton, Illinois; one brother- Van LaMore of Covington, Indiana; three grandchildren- Denise (John) Lux and Desnee (Tim) Neubauer both of Morton, Illinois and Brandon Markham of Danville; seven great-grandchildren- Ian, Mason, Lizzabella and Madeline Lux, Steven and Ryan Neubauer and Ashley Markham; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son- Steven Dettman and one brother-James LaMore. Frances graduated from Danville High School. She worked as a beautician in her home for several years and later worked as the first unit secretary at Lakeview Hospital for several years, until she retired. She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church. Frances was also a member of TOPS, Red Hats and the CRIS Card Club. She enjoyed playing cards, writing letters, cooking, traveling and visiting with family and friends. A Celebration of the Life of Frances Lorraine Dettman will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 3, 2008 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center with Pastor Daniel Fienen officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 " 7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home and also from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Burial will be at the Lutheran Cemetery in Danville.
