Frances Burress, 81, of Georgetown passed away at 3:20am, Wednesday, September 24, 2008, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana. She was born on March 21, 1927, in Elk Horn, KY, the daughter of Clarence and Mary (Cox) Gabehart. On April 15, 1947, she was united in marriage to Walter Tommy Burress in Louisville, KY, for 60 years until his death on January 8, 2007. She will be missed by: her children, Wes Burress of Catlin, IL, Linda (Ron) Noggle of Georgetown, and Brenda (Zeke) Yoho of Georgetown; her grandchildren, Michael (Angel) Burress of Georgetown, James (Jennifer) Burress of Indianapolis, IN, Sara Yoho of Georgetown, Kristi (Beau) Ford of Springfield, Dr. Chad (Jennifer) Noggle of Murfreesboro, TN, Josh Burress of Champaign, & Jesse Techtow of Danville; her great grandchildren, Max, Kaitlyn, Lauren, Madison, Parker, Aubrey, and two granddaughters on the way; her half-brother, Burl Wayne Hoosier of Kentucky; and her half sister, Martha Mae Colvin of Kentucky. Frances was preceded in death by: her father, Clarence Gabehart; her mother, Mary Hoosier; her step-father, Charles Hoosier; a sister; two brothers; and one granddaughter. Frances enjoyed sewing and making quilts. She also enjoyed gardening and cooking, as well as, fishing and playing Rummy. She loved spending time with her family and adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren. A celebration of Frances life will be held at 10:30am, Saturday, September 27, 2008, at Georgetown First Church of Christ, 503 N Main St, Georgetown. Pastor James Blue will officiate. Visitation will also be held at the Church from 3-7pm on Friday, September 26, 2008. She will be laid to rest in Forest Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given in her name to the American Diabetes Association, Georgetown-Ridge Farm Educational Foundation, or the Danville Public Schools Foundation.
