Tilton- Floyd Russell Lomax Sr, 64, passed away at his home in Tilton, Illionis on July 30, 2014. Floyd was met at the gates of heaven by his wife, brothers, parents and grandson to welcome him into heaven. Floyd was born the son of Paul and Beverley (Brannin) Lomax in Danville on March 21, 1950. He later married Susie Lomax on December 10th, 1982 at ST. James Church in Danville she preceded him in death. Survivors of Floyd include two daughters, Michelle (Rob) Tanalski and Lisa (Bryan) Lomax-Harris; two sons, Rusty (Liz) Lomax and Shawn Lomax; one sister, June (Craig Page) Tyler; two brothers, Loren (Chris) Lomax and Rick (Julie) Lomax; four grandchildren, Austin Tanalski, Blake Young, Christain and Neva Lomax, also many nieces and nephews who loved him. Floyd was preceded in death by his parents, wife Susie, Grandson Jacob Harris, three brothers Micheal, Jeff and Daniel Lomax, and one sister Rosalyn. Floyd loved playing with his grandchildren they were his pride and joy, he loved the Green Bay Packers, coaching his kids in baseball, playing basketball, fishing, playing cards and being with his family. Floyd worked his entire career at Leverenz Monument Company. Floyd will be deeply missed by his friends and family. A celebration of Floyds life will be at 1:00 pm. on Saturday August 2, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville. Officiating will be Reverend Katie Hopper. A visitation will be at the funeral home 11am until 1pm on Saturday. Burial will be in Potomac Cemetery. Memorials may be made in Floyds name to the family.
