Floyd Keith Pforr

CHAMPAIGN - Floyd "Keith" Pforr, 73, of Champaign, passed away Tuesday morning, June 23, 2015 at Champaign County Nursing Home in Urbana. Born October 11, 1941 in Champaign, he was the son of Floyd and Vona (Tinsman) Pforr. He was a 1959 graduate of Champaign High School. Keith married Kim Vaughn on July 17, 1987 at Church of the Brethren in Champaign. Keith served his country with honor in the United States Navy. He worked as a route driver and a welder, and worked for the University of Illinois as a Building Service Worker, retiring in 2007. Keith was a member of Church of the Brethren in Champaign, and attended White Heath United Methodist Church. He enjoyed bowling, watching baseball, welding for pleasure, and watching NASCAR. Keith was a devout Christian who enjoyed reading the Bible. He is survived by his wife, Kim Pforr of Champaign; two sons, Jameson Pforr and Judson Pforr, both of Naples, Florida; two daughters, Elyse (Mike Davis) Niccum of Champaign and Sarah (Michael) Maxwell of Pesotum; one grand daughter, Adelyn Maxwell; two brothers, David (Gayle) Pforr of Rantoul, and Thomas (Donna) Pforr of Fisher. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Ron Pforr; and twin sisters in infancy. A service to celebrate Keith's life will be held at 5:30 pm Friday, June 26, 2015 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 710 N. Neil Street in Champaign. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the time of service Friday. Memorials have been established in Keith's memory for the Alzheimer's Association and White Heath United Methodist Church.
