Florence A. Pittman Florence Pittman, 86, of Danville, passed away Tuesday, November 6, 2007 at 12:20 a.m. at Hawthorne Inn nursing home in Danville. She was born April 21, 1921 in Danville, the daughter of John and Anna Gerdausky. She is survived by her husband John, daughter Janet Nichols of Danville, son Mark (Cindy) Pittman of Danville, brother John (Jane) Gerdausky of Covington, IN, grandchildren Marcy (Jim) Kalina of Laguna Nigel, CA, Marisa (Josh) Gordon of Zionsville, IN, Amanda Pittman of Champaign, Chase Pittman of Danville, one great-grandson Jacob Gordon of Zionsville, IN, three nieces, Judy (Tom) Simmons of CA, Carol Call of Lexington, KY and Cathy (Don) Hesler of Covington, IN. Florence graduated from Danville High School in 1939 and worked at the Danville Commercial-News prior to her marriage. She served as a Red Cross Volunteer at Provena United Samaritans Medical Center for over 30 years and was a charter member and childrens bible school teacher of Northland Christian Church. A Celebration of Florences life will be held Saturday, November 10, 2007, at 10a.m. at Crossroads Christian Church located at 3613 N. Vermilion St. in Danville. Pastors Doug Hargrave and Miles Clark will be officiating. Visitation will be held the evening prior on November 9, 2007 from 4-7 p.m., also at the Crossroads Christian Church. She will be laid to rest in Springhill Cemetery following the services. Sunset Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to The Crossroads Christian Church.
