Florence Marie Britch

Florence Marie Britch, 95, of Danville, passed away December 2, 2017, at Presence USMC, Danville. Florence had resided at Pleasant Meadows Senior Living, Chrisman, IL, for the past five years. Florence was born September 18, 1922, in Danville, IL, the daughter of Leon and Lillie (Lehmann) Thompson. Florence attended St. Joseph's Grade School and graduated from Danville High School in 1940. She then worked as an operator and service representative at Illinois Bell for ten years. On June 25, 1947, she married Earl Britch at the Rectory of St. Joseph's Church, Danville. She worked alongside Earl on the family farm in Catlin, IL until his passing in 1968. Florence then worked as a teller at the Catlin Bank for 25 years until her retirement. Florence's hobbies included reading and crossword puzzles. She was a member of the St. Mary's Church, Westville, where she was a past member of the choir and Altar and Rosary Society. She was also a member of the Catlin Historical Society. Florence was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Earl, sister and brother-in-law, Helen (Clyde) Cockrell, brother and sister-in-law, Leon Jr. (Margaret) Thompson, and son-in-law, Jim Monfredini. She is survived by her daughter, Phyllis Monfredini, granddaughter, Kyla (Jason) Hotsinpiller, grandson, Tyson Monfredini, and great grandchildren, Jaren & Josie Hotsinpiller. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30am, Wednesday, December 6, 2017, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 231 N State St, Westville. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, Danville. Visitation will be 4:00pm to 7:00pm, Tuesday, December 5, 2017, at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel, 414 S. State St., Westville, with a Rosary Service at 3:30pm. The family would like to thank the nursing staff at Pleasant Meadows Senior Living for their care of Florence these past five years.
