Florence Irene Hodges, affectionately known as Aunt Polly, age 99, went to be with her Lord at 6:41 pm on Friday, December 26, 2008 at Provena USMC in Danville. She was born August 15, 1909 in Patoka, IN the daughter of LeRoy and Delta Mae (Isaac) Marsh. She married Joseph Weibaut and he preceded her in death. She later married James E. Hodges and he also preceded her. Florence is survived by one step-son: Jim Hodges; her nieces and nephews: Robert Marsh, Joan Stein, Marion Dickerson, Tom (Judy) Marsh, Dorothy Yow, Arthur (Pauline) Hamm, Jerry (Nancy) Richards; special adopted nieces: Mary Reffett, Janis Romack; and lots of great and great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother: Robert Marsh, two sisters: Zelma King and Edith Toops. Florence retired from the laundry department at the VA Hospital after twenty plus years of service. She enjoyed sewing and cooking and loved going out to eat with family and friends. Aunt Polly loved sending time with her nieces and nephews. She also loved the animals that she took care of. Florence was a member of the First Assembly of God Church of Danville. A celebration of the life of Florence Hodges will be held at 10 am on Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at Sunset Funeral Home with Robert Marsh officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 pm on Monday, December 29, 2008 at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be sent in Florences name to the First Assembly of God Church of Danville.
