Florence Boland, 89, formerly of Georgetown, IL, and Kingman, IN, died Saturday, June 11, 2011, in Cape Girardeau, MO. She had lived in the Cape Girardeau area for the past 7 years. Florence was born February, 12, 1922, in Ridge Farm, IL, the daughter of Richard Golden Haworth and Nellie Foster Haworth. She and Donald L. Boland were married December 26, 1939, in Newport, IN. Don passed away July 23, 1995. She worked at General Electric, was a beautician, and also had a ceramic shop where she taught her talent to many in the Georgetown and Kingman areas. She enjoyed painting, fishing, and spending time with her family and friends. Loving survivors include two sons, David (Sharon) Boland of St. Augustine, FL, and Don (Paula) Boland of Georgetown, and a daughter Sandy (Randy) Black of Jackson, MO. Also granddaughters Denise (Tom) Courtney, Kari (James) Shuey, Tawna (David) Bartley, Holly (Rob) Phillips; grandsons Dennis Boland, David (Stacy) Boland, Eric (Jill) Boland, Brett (Christi Denton) Boland, Vince (Kirsten) Black; sisters Elsie Cook of Georgetown and Mary Hawn of Cayuga, IN. She is also survived by several great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley Hess, one sister, Rachel Edmiston, and brothers, Frank Haworth, William Haworth, and Leroy Haworth. Friends may call from 4-7pm Tuesday, June 14, at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home in Georgetown. The funeral will be Wednesday at 10am at the Funeral Home.
