Florence N. Baldwin, 100, of Danville, passed away on June 1, 2015 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. She was born on January 26, 1915 in Armstrong, IL, the daughter of William and Eunice (Wood) Jackson. She married Don A. Baldwin in 1938 in Urbana, IL. He preceded her in death in 2009. Florence will be deeply missed by one daughter, Sandy (Wayne) Scarlett of Indianola, IL, five grandchildren; Kevin (Laura) Mitchell of Champaign, IL, Kirk (Becky) Mitchell of Anna, IL, Kristi (Troy) Kirby of Fairmount, IL, Jason (Kathryn) Scarlett of South Bend, IN, and Jeremy (Debby) Scarlett of Milwaukee, WI, ten great-grandchildren; Taylor, Morgan, Amber, Nathan, Kiersten, Lauren, Ryan, Will, Peter and Tyler. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, Alan Baldwin and six siblings; Glen, John, Art, Don, James and Mary. Florence graduated from St. Elizabeth's School of Nursing in 1938 and then stayed home to raise her family. In 1961 she went back to work at various nursing homes until she retired in 1975. Her and Don moved to St. Petersburg, FL and lived there for 26 years before moving back to be near their family. She was a member of Indianola Methodist Church and loved to knit, play cards, travel and spend time with family and friends. A celebration of life visitation for Florence will be held on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 from 4:00-7:00 PM at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville. Graveside services at Woodlawn Cemetery in Indianola will be held at a later date. Memorials can be made to Catlin Methodist Church or Indianola Methodist Church.
