Flora Mae Scott

Flora Mae Scott, 95, of Decatur, formerly of Georgetown, passed away at 11:42pm on Friday, March 9, 2018 at Liberty Village, Clinton, IL. She was born on October 29, 1922 in Granite City, IL, the daughter of George & Laura (Nichols) Gates. She was united in marriage to Clovis T. Scott in 1942 until his passing on February 9, 2005. She will be dearly missed by sons, Walter (Carolyn) Scott & Toby (Sharon) Scott; daughter, Ruth (Ray) Brucker; Grandchildren, Walter (Tara) Scott, Jeffrey (Pamela) Scott, Angela (Tommy) Holota, Brian (Alison) Barnes, Amanda & Shelbi Scott; eight great grandchildren. Flora was preceded in death by parents; daughter, Kimberly Barnes; two sisters & two brothers. Flora enjoyed gardening, sewing & cooking. She was a devoted wife, mother & grandmother. She always put her family first. A Celebration of Flora's life will be 11:00am on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at Georgetown United Methodist Church, 400 N Main St, Georgetown with Pastor Matt Filicsky officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00pm to 7:00pm on Tuesday, March 13,2018 at Sunset's Houghton Leasure Funeral Home, 200 E. West St, Georgetown. She will be laid to rest in Sunset Memorial Park, Danville. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given in her name to: Alzheimer's Foundation or Parkinson's Foundation.
