Cayuga, Ind. - Fern Cutrell, 90, of Cayuga, passed away at 8:05 a.m. EST Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at her residence in Cayuga. She was born March 22, 1922 in Metcalf, Illinois, the daughter of the late Stacy Ralph and Etta Olevia Vale Arthur. She married Louis Mantell Cutrell, Sr. on July 13, 1947 in Cayuga, Indiana. He preceded her in death on February 5, 1991. Survivors include two sons, Louis "Butch" M.(Karen)Cutrell, Jr. of Arvada, Colorado and David Lee Cutrell of Fort Wayne, Indiana; two sisters, Dorothy McMurtrey of Valparaiso, Indiana and her twin sister, Lavern Julick of Cayuga, Indiana. Fern was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Etta Elizabeth Cutrell; sister, Faye Stokes and three infant brothers. Fern was a homemaker and pie baker extraordinaire. She was a former Cub Scout Den Mother for both of her sons. Fern was a member of the Cayuga Presbyterian Church, Royal Neighbors of America, Bunco Club, Homemakers Club and the Perrysville Chapter #302 O.E.S. Funeral services: Saturday, January 5, 2013 at 1 p.m. EST at DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana; Officiating: Rev. Hana Elliott; Visitation: Saturday, January 5, 2013 from Noon EST until time of services; Burial: Thomas Cemetery in Newport, Indiana.
