Fern A. Baldwin

Danville - Fern A. Baldwin, 87, of Catlin, passed away March 01, 2014. She was born on September 30, 1926 in Oakwood, IL the daughter of Lewis and Lucy Stedman Warner. She married to Willis Baldwin on February 5, 1947 in Chicago, IL. He has since preceded her in death. She is survived by her son, Chuck (Karen) Baldwin; her daughter, LuAnne (Robin) Brown; her grandchildren, Chuck E. Baldwin, Jennifer (Don) Hammons, Jason (Amy) Reed, Chris (Joanie) Reed, Amanda Brown, and Michael (Emily) Brown; her great-grandchildren, Jake, Josh, Jesse, Charlie, Willie, Shawn, Skylar, Shelby, Hannah, Ali, Andrew, Ashby, Carrie, and Ariella, She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her brothers, Frank and Robert; her sisters, Mary, Florence, and Olive. Fern was an avid reader; she would be able to read through multiple books in a week. She was also a master of all things trivia. When she watched Jeopardy with her friends at Bowman Estates, they would get jealous because Fern knew every answer. She graduated from St. Elizabeth School of Nursing in 1946 with a bachelors degree in Nursing. Above all else, Fern loved her family and friends; she will be sorely missed by anyone who was fortunate enough to have known her. A celebration of Ferns life will be held at 4pm on Saturday March 8, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville. A visitation will be held on Saturday March 8, 2014 from 2pm to 4pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Ferns name to the American Cancer Society.
