Farrell Lane, 70, of Danville passed away at 4:20 am Friday May 7, 2004 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. Farrell was born September 9, 1933in Hillery the son of the late Charles and Naomi (Holden) Lane. Farrell married Janice Lee Mahoney August 16, 1957 at Vermilion Heights Christian Church in Danville, she survives of Danville. Survivors include 1 daughter Ellen J. (Mark) Monson of Oakwood and 1 son Steven E. (Lisa) Lane of Danville. 3 grandchildren Nick (Christina) Monson of Chicago, Marissa Monson of Urbana, and Joshua Lane of Danville. Siblings Helen (Joe) Hall of Danville Ron (Jan) Lane of Danville Richard (Sherry) Lane of Washington D.C., Sue (Mike) Ellis of Danville, Debbie (Allyn) Patterson of Jacksonville, FL, Melvin Lane of Georgetown and a brother in law Robert Davidson of Danville. 1 sister Barbara Davidson preceded him in death. Farrell graduated from Oakwood High School in 1951 and then served in the United States Navy from 52-56. Farrell worked as a Pipefitter with the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local #293 and as a partner in Viking Plumbing and Heating and later served as Owner Representative of Danville Public Building Commission. Farrell was a member of Vermilion Heights Christian Church and was a former Elder and was serving as a Deacon. Farrell held membership in Gideon's, Anchor Lodge #980, GAO Grotto, and Scottish Rites of Danville. Farrell enjoyed cooking breakfast for his family, baking pies, and spending time with his family. He also enjoyed history and current politics. The family would like to thank DR's Phillip Johnson, Soo Park, Abraham Kocheril, and Ronnie Luyun for their expert care and compassion.
