Farmer Moore, Jr.

Newport, Ind. -- Farmer Moore, Jr., 90, formerly of Newport and a resident of The Waters of Covington, passed away at 10:55 a.m. EDT Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at The Waters of Covington in Covington, Indiana. He was born July 28, 1920 in Terre Haute, Indiana, the son of the late Farmer and Grace Moore, Sr. He married Bertha L. Freed on April 8, 1946 in Newport, Indiana. She preceded him in death on May 4, 2009. Survivors include one son, Jerry Lee Moore of Danville, Illinois and two grandchildren. Farmer retired from the V.A. Hospital in Danville, Illinois as a nursing assistant. He was a veteran of W.W. II serving with the United States Army. He was a 1941 graduate of Newport High School. Farmer attended the United Methodist Church. There will be no public services. A private family graveside service will be held at Thomas Cemetery in Newport, Indiana.
