Everett V Pate

Everett V. Pate, 75, of Danville, passed away on Friday, January 18, 2019 surrounded by loved ones in his home. He was born on July 11, 1943, the son of Harley and Lucille Pate. He married Jean H. Smoot on May 29, 1965 in Danville.

Everett is preceded in death by his parents, wife, three brothers, two sisters, and step father, Fredrick Taylor.

Survivors include one son, Vincent Eugene (Lisa) Pate of Kingman, IN; one daughter, Lorie Ann (Ronnie Hoshauer) Pate of Fithian; grandchildren, Chelsey Anna (Darren Lamm) Hoshauer, Bethany Leagha (Collin) Rattenni of Largo, FL; Jilleann Grace Pate, and Cale William Vincent Pate; one brother, John Pate of Rossville, IL; one sister, Lois (Pete) Dolezal of Ringgold, GA; one great grandchild, Terron Lamm; special friends Mike Carpenter, Brian Hepler, Jake Cooley, Arnold Cravens, Jeff Reasor, Steve Reasor and several other special family and friends.

Everett was part of the United States Air Force. After the Air Force he worked for Lake View Hospital, Thyssenkrupp, as well as Berkeley Davis. He was a member at large of the American Legion and a member of the Disabled American Veterans organization. Everett loved to garden and draw. He especially loved spending time with his family. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather.

Everett and Jean are now Together Again, but he will be missed dearly by his family and friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center 3940 N. Vermilion St. in Danville. Officiating will be Pastor Raymie Gordon. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park in Danville. Visitation will be held the evening prior on Friday, January 25, 2019 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Disabled American Veterans charity at dav.org.
