Everett Meeker

Everett Meeker, Jr. went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Monday, December 18, 2006. He was born in Danville, IL on September 1, 1923, the middle of three children of Everett and Reva (Steele) Meeker. Everett graduated from Danville High School in 1942, attended business college and the University of Illinois. He farmed in Rileysburg, IN for 57 years. On August 25, 1946 Everett married Adeline Bennett in Brunswick, GA. Everett is survived by his son, Ronald (Peggy) Meeker of Memphis, TN; his daughter, Judy (John) Weese of Landisville, PA; grandchildren Angie (Denny) Burchfield of Danville, IL; Justin Weese of Akron, OH; Brandon (Carly) Weese of Columbia, PA; Samantha Meeker of Chicago, IL; Megan Meeker of Memphis, TN; and great-grandchildren, Lee Anne and Luke Burchfield of Danville, IL; other survivors include his sister, Ruby Moore of Zellwood, FL; many loving sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 60 years, Adeline; his parents; brother, Gene; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. Everett was an active member of Central Christian Church of Danville. He was an Elder, a Trustee of the church, a member of the Co-Wed Class, and a Deacon Emeritus. He was also active for many years in the Perrysville Lions Club and was a 32nd Degree Mason. Everett was a veteran of WWII. A celebration of life service for Everett Meeker, Jr. will be held on Friday, December 22, 2006 at 10:00 am at Central Christian Church in Danville with Reverend Dr. Vanzant officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 pm on Thursday, December 21, 2006 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center.
