Evelyn Marie White also known as Blondie, passed away at North Logan Health Center on Sunday, February 14th 2016. Her family and friends were saddened that Alzheimer's would rob Evelyn of her fond memories. She was born on August 12th 1928. Evelyn was the daughter of Lawrence and Hazel (Johnson) Reese. Evelyn married Bill White in a secret marriage on January 1st 1948, in Terre Haute. He survives at their family farm. Evelyn and Bill were married for 68 years. She was a proud mother of their five children. Rick (Donna) White of Alvin; Terry (Bob) Dines of Alvin; Hopper (Mary) White of Alvin; Billie (Mike) Kinnett of Florida; and Rusty (Amanda) White of Rossville. Evelyn was the oldest sibling to five sisters, Lois, Helen, Donna, Irene, and Bonnie and two brothers, Jim and Bob. Evelyn dearly loved the Lord. She volunteered countless hours for her church; Old Union Church of Christ, Crossroads Christian Church, and Pleasant Meadows Nursing Home. Evelyn was a talented pianist playing for Old Union Church of Christ the Christian group "The Gospel Aires," and Crossroads Christian Church for over 50 years. Her musical talent has been passed down to all of her children and grandchildren. Evelyn sincerely enjoyed her visits with her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. She was an excellent seamstress and sewed all of the dresses and shirts for her family during the Alvin Centennial, which she was the secretary for the Organization. Her Christmas strawberries is a recipe well known to her family as well as her sweet tea being a favorite to all that stopped by. Later in life you could find Evelyn sitting in her chair, watching the hummingbirds and cardinals, and addressing cards for birthdays, get-wells, congratulations, anniversaries, or just anything for friends or her family. She was a graduate of Bismarck High School and always worked to get the class of 1946 together. Evelyn also worked for Gene Carlton at C & V Erectors and Circle Iron.
