Evelyn Wallace

Evelyn Shorty L. Wallace, 79, a long time resident of 110 N. Daisy Lane, Danville, passed away on October 15, 2008 at Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Danville. Evelyn was born February 14, 1929 in Scotland, Illinois daughter of Albert and Retha (Robertson) Ryan. She married Leland Peaches B. Wallace on November 28, 1947 in Danville. Survivors include two children: Constance (Dale) King of Jacksonville, FL, and Albert (Maggie) Wallace of Danville; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Her parents, Husband, and daughter Nancy preceded her in death. Evelyn was a 47 graduate of Danville High School and had worked for many years at Zayer & Ames. She was a member of the Moose Lodge for 47 years, VFW, and the Navy Club. She enjoyed sewing, camping, gardening, and her beloved grandchildren. A Celebration of Evelyns Life will be held at 3:00 pm , October 18, 2008 at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center 3940 N. Vermilion St. Danville, IL. Visitation will be held from 1-3 pm Saturday afternoon at the funeral home. Following the service, she will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville.
