GEORGETOWN- Evelyn M. West, 83, of Georgetown, passed away at her daughters residence at 6:40am on Sunday, November 26, 2006. Mrs. West was born in Salem, IL, on May 1, 1923, the daughter of James Howard Watson and Verna Olive (Crane) Watson. Both her parents precede her in death. On July 5, 1941, Evelyn married Mr. James West in Maple Wood, MO. He preceded her in death in May 1988. Evelyn is survived by: her daughter, Carol (Dave) Niccum of Georgetown; her five grandchildren, James (Margie) West of San Jacinto, CA, Troy West of La Habra, CA, Eric (Lisa) Fleming of Georgetown, Amber (Marty) Stallard of Highland, IL, and Tari (Glen) Johnson of Manchester, MD; her six great-grandchildren, Shaun Keathley, Ashlie Fleming, Reina and Jamie West, and Shelby and Shane Stallard; her brother, James Buster (Mona) Watson of Salem, IL; and her two special friends, Mary Ringer and Madaline Sykes, both of Georgetown. Her son, daughter, brother, and sister preceded Evelyn in death. Evelyn was employed with the former Ben Franklins Five and Dime Department store of Georgetown, retiring after many years of service. She enjoyed quilting, flowers, sewing, scrapbooking, and spending time with her grandchildren and family. A celebration of the Life of Evelyn West is scheduled for 3:00pm on Wednesday, November 29, 2006 at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home located at 200 E. West St. in Georgetown. Officiating: Mr. Steve Rutter. Final resting place will be at Georgetown Cemetery in Georgetown. A gathering of family and friends will be from 1p-3p on Wednesday, November 29, 2006 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in Evelyns name to the Carle Hospice Foundation.
