Evelyn M. Lehmann, 86, of Danville, passed away at 3:32 a.m. Sunday, March 6, 2005 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. She was born September 5, 1918 in Brazil, Indiana, the daughter of Alfred F. and Virgie E. (Altman) DuBois. She married Archie F. Lehmann on April 28, 1940 in Danville. Evelyn is survived by: her husband of over 64 years- Archie F. Lehmann of Danville; 2 Daughters- Marla (Jack) Sprouls of Lynden, Washington and Janine Roberts of Atlanta, Georgia; 2 Grandchildren- Gregory Moore, currently serving as a Captain in the U.S. Army and Suzanne Moore of Augusta, Georgia. Her parents, 1 Brother- Jack DuBois and 1 Sister- Maxine Goodson preceded her in death. She graduated from Brazil High School in 1936. Evelyn worked alongside her husband at the Ace Hardware on Hazel Street for over 20 years as a cashier. She was a very active member of Vermilion Heights Christian Church, where she once taught Sunday school and was a member of the Willing Workers. She was a charter member of the Danville Sweet Adelines, member of the Home Bureau, Girl Scout Leader and 4-H Leader. Along with her husband, she volunteered for many years delivering Meals on Wheels. Evelyn enjoyed flowers, the outdoors, sewing, traveling, and communicating with family and friends. She loved being a wife, mother and grandmother. She also loved all of the ladies in her birthday club.
