Covington, IN- Evelyn Louise Hinote, 76, of Covington, IN, formerly of Danville, passed away at 12:55 PM on Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. She was born on November 5, 1935 in Danville to Harry Milton and Phyllis Margaret Butcher Grimes. Following her first marriage to Richard E. Stitt, Sr., she married Tom Hinote on March 16, 1968. Tom preceded her in death in 2006. She is survived by a son, Richard (Jane) Stitt, Jr. of Danville; daughter Debbie (Jim) Manning of Danville; sister Barbara Johnson of Danville; six grandchildren, Nicole (Greg) Phillips, Richard Stitt III, Leslie (Erik) Thomason, and Katie (Joel) Stitt, Jessie (Chris) Winn and Nick Manning; and seven great-grandchildren, Brock, Noah, Blake, Breighton, Karlie, Kennedy, and Laniejane; and special-friends Maryl, Shirley, and Mary. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Joan, and a brother Johnny. Evelyn had previously worked at Chuckles Candy and Sav-A-Lot. She loved the Lord and was a long time member of the New Life Christian Center. Evelyn enjoyed spending time with her grandkids and great-grandkids. She also loved her dog Tucker, and liked to read and watch Illinois Basketball. A graveside service for Evelyn Hinote will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, March 24, 2012 at the Chapel Mausoleum in Sunset Memorial Park in Danville. Pastor Doug Knapp will officiate. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration Home in Danville is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Danville Humane Society.
