Evelyn B Danneberger

Evelyn B. Danneberger, age 93, of Columbus, Ohio, entered into eternal rest Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2015, at her home with family by her side. She was born Dec. 9, 1921, in Fithian, a daughter of the late Ray F. and Rebecca (Reynolds) Davis. She received her Bachelor of Science degree and Master's degree from the University of Illinois. Evelyn began her teaching career at a small rural school and went on to teach second grade for over 22 years in Champaign. She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Tom "Karl" and Sallie Danneberger, of Dublin, Ohio, and Glenn Danneberger, of San Diego, Calif.; two grandsons, Marc and Kyle; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Tom "Danny" Danneberger; sisters and brothers, Ethel Waters, Margaret Owens, Charles W. Davis and James F. Davis. She was a member of St. James United Methodist Church in Danville. Evelyn was an avid sports fan and was a member of Illini Quarterback Club. A Memorial Service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, at Sunset Funeral Home, 3940 N. Vermilion St., Danville, where family will receive friends from 10 a.m. Saturday until time of service with Rev. Zach LeCrone officiating. Contributions in Evelyn's memory may be made to a favorite charity of choice. She was loved by many wonderful friends and family and will be missed dearly.
