Evelyn Atteberry

Evelyn Atteberry, 91, of Tilton passed away at 5:45 am Monday April 12, 2004 at Provena USMC Logan Campus. Evelyn was born October 22, 1912 in Attica, IN the daughter of Oliver and Cora May Julian. She married Raymond R. Kelsheimer in Paris, IL on October 29, 1933 and he preceded her in death on July 8, 1943. Evelyn later married David Atteberry in 1950. Survivors include one son: Thomas (Judy) Kelsheimer of Springfield, IL, one daughter: Sandra (Dean) Redenbaugh of Tilton, IL, one granddaughter: Melody (Phillip) Wilson of Westville and two great granddaughters: Jessica Dawn Wilson and Amber Nicole Wilson both of Westville. She is preceded in death by her parents, first husband, six sisters and three brothers. Evelyn graduated from Danville High School in 1931. She retired after 37 years of service from the Illinois Fireworks Co in 1981, where she was the office manager. Evelyn was a member of Central Park United Methodist Church and had taught Adult Sunday School. She was also a member of the Readers Club in Danville. Evelyn received her certification as a Certified Professional Secretary in 1970. She was a member of Professional Secretaries Association for 30 years, holding several local offices. She also did volunteer work with the Red Cross, was a Nurse's Aid during WWII, voluntered as a "Big Sister" and visited patients in nursing homes. Her hobbies included travel, reading, and working crossword puzzles.
