Eva Munger

Eva Munger, 95, of Mattoon, passed away at Colonial Manor on Monday June 19, 2017 in the early hours. Eva was born on June 12, 1922 in Monessen, PA the daughter of Steve and Stamatia (Mavrakis) Marnos. Eva married the love of her life Nick Munger on June 6, 1948, they were married fifty-five years. He preceded her in death. Eva leaves behind three grandchildren Lisa (Robert) Mann, John McDermott and David (Lori) McDermott, seven great grandchildren Anthony, Andrew and Katherine McDermott, Allison and Christopher Mann, Nick and Ryan McDermott, nieces and nephews Nick and James Marnos, Steve Marnos, Steve Pantazelos, Sandra (George) Dickerson and Jeff Dickerson. Eva was very close to her nieces and nephews on her husband Nick's side of the family. Eva was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter Christina McDermott, two brothers James and Steve Marnos and one sister Marge Pantazelos. Eva enjoyed playing golf, shopping and traveling with her husband Nick. They were members in the Elks and Moose Clubs. Eva also enjoyed entertaining, going to her house to have a cocktail was the high light of many family members trips. She also loved her family and taking care of them while the stopped by. A celebration of Eva's life will be held on Friday June 23, 2017 from 10 - 11 am, at Sunset Funeral Home 3940 N Vermilion street Danville. With a service following at 11.
