Eva B. Harper

Eva B. Harper, 81, of Danville passed away at 3:10 PM on April 28, 2019 at Danville Care Center in Danville, IL.

Eva was born on December 14, 1937 the daughter of the Reverend Globel William and Alice (Purvis) Miller in Ohio, IL. She married Ramon D. Harper on March 22, 1960 and her preceded her in death on March 27, 2018.

Survivors include one daughter, Laurie (Ray) Downing of Tilton, IL, one son, Bryan Harper of Danville, IL, 2 grandsons, Steven Downing of Madison, WI and William Downing of Danville, IL one brother, Harvey (Shirley) Miller of Danville, IL and one sister, Pearl Davis of Lafayette, IN, one sister-in-law, Ramona (Bud) Logan of Danville, IL as well as several nieces and nephews.

Eva is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ramon and one brother, Reverend Fred Miller.

Eva was a member of the Second Church of Christ in Danville and was retired from the Danville YWCA where she worked as a Secretary and later with the Woman Domestic Violence Program. Prior to Eva working at the YWCA she babysat in her home for many children. She enjoyed spending her free time watching Illini and Purdue basketball and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at 10:00 AM at Hillery Assembly of God Church, 19454 Henning Road Danville, IL with Pastor Ramona Logan and Kenneth Young co-officiating. Burial will be in Danville National Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2019, from 9:00 10:00 PM at Hillery Assembly of God Church. Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St., Danville, Illinois 61834 is assisting the family with arrangements.
