Eunice Mae Sands

Danville - Eunice Mae Sands, 67, of Danville passed away at 4:32 pm on April 14, 2018 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL. Eunice was born on June 2, 1950 the daughter of Forrest and Evelyn (Foster) Collison in Danville, IL. She married Roger Sands on September 18, 1970 and he preceded her in death on May 30, 2017. Survivors include one daughter; Tina (Garth) Kagels of Covington, IN, two brothers; Jerry (Shirley) Collison of Danville, IL and Joe (Susie) Collison of Veedersburg, IN, a special sister-in-law; Judy Makemson of Danville, two granddaughters; Olivia (Corey) Osborne of Covington, IN and Mariah (Kaleb Gulley) Kagels of Covington, IN, one great grandson, Beau Robert Osborne of Covington, IN as well as a special caretaker; Billie Jo Pearson. Eunice is preceded in death by her parents and one brother; Terry Collison. Eunice attended the Georgetown Church of the Nazarene in Georgetown, IL. She was a wonderful cook and is known for her fried chicken, baked mac & cheese and fried green beans. Eunice was an avid BINGO player at the UAW Hall as well as at War Dads. She enjoyed playing card games; especially Euchre, visiting with her family and friends on the telephone and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandson. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday April 18, 2018 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion Street, Danville, IL. Pastors Gary Farris and Troy Horne will officiate. Burial will be in Gundy Cemetery in rural Bismarck. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 7:00 PM on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at the funeral home.
