Eunice Halcomb, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, died Friday August 1, 2014 at Carle Foundation Hospital. She was born to the late Earl and Vernice Heckerson, July 9, 1932, in rural Armstrong, Il. Eunice graduated from Armstrong High School in 1950. Eunice married the late John Halcomb on September 22, 1951, and they lived in Rankin, IL., before relocating to Armstrong and ultimately to Mahomet/Fisher, IL. Eunice was a homemaker and farm wife, which required numerous talents. She and John worked hard together and enjoyed life. Eunice and John enjoyed attending auctions where they could add to their extensive collections, and enjoyed the company of their friends attending the auctions. Attending her beloved garage sales also enabled Eunice to find items at each and every one. Eunice is survived by her brother Everett Heckerson (Danville, IL) and Sister Iris Hocker (Naples, FL), and her four children: Dennis, of Machesney Park, IL; Daryl, of Gibson City, IL; Dana (Bob) Hannah, of Champaign, IL; Dwain (Paula), of Tinley Park, IL. She also is survived by her grandchildren: Shane (Melissa) Halcomb; Jamie Hannah (Greg Low); Aimee Daniels (Steve); Jessica Hannah; Brad (Sarah)Halcomb; Aaron Halcomb; Elizabeth (Ryan) Rosenstein; Jase Hannah; Nick Halcomb; and Hannah Halcomb. Great Grandchildren include: Emily Halcomb; Ryan Daniels; Paige Halcomb; Trinity Halcomb; Anastasia Halcomb, Logan Daniels; and Zoey Halcomb. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Friday August 8 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Champaign-Urbana Chapel, 710 N. Neil St., Champaign, IL. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, August 9 at 10 a.m. at the Funeral Home.
