Eugene Hambright Eugene Hambright, 79, of Danville, died at 4:55 p.m. on Saturday, September 30, 2006, at VA Illiana Health Care System. Eugene was born June 19, 1927, in Covington, IN, the son of William and Iva Jane (Watson) Hambright. He married Maxine M. Niedrich on March 17, 1948 in Danville. She survives. Eugene is survived by a son, Randy (Nancy) Hambright of San Antonio, TX; a daughter, Brenda (Mike) Strader of Decatur, IL; a brother, Don (Thelma) Hambright of Palm Desert, CA; a sister, Lenore (Jack) Busch of Wichita, KS; four grandchildren, Jonathan E., Molly, Georgie, and Anna and four great-grandchildren, Karmina, Gage, Isabella, and Jonathan L.M. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Ernie, Bill, and Bob and one sister, Dorothy. Eugene was the assistant plant manager at Peterson Filling and Packaging Company. Prior to joining Peterson, he spent 11 years with Modern Machine Shop and then spent 13 years with Continental Filling Division of Aerosol Techniques, Inc. He was managing the engineering department and was responsible for complex aerosol packaging equipment for CCL Company when he retired. Eugene served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was recalled during the Korean conflict. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, golfing, and collecting ball caps. Eugene was a member of St. James United Methodist Church, the Elks Club, American Legion and was a 32nd Degree Mason with Olive Branch 38 of Danville. A celebration of Eugenes life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 4, 2006 at Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Chaplain Terry Langford officiating.
