Esther Underwood

Esther Berneice Underwood, 90, of Danville, died at home on December 10, 2007. She was born September 21, 1917 in Potomac, IL the daughter of Mose and Gertrude (Poulson) Spain. She married William Underwood. He preceded her in death. Esther is survived by a special niece: Ruth Norton, one brother: Richard Spain; one sister: Margaret Bird; two great nieces: Kimber Eaton, Marlena Cooper, one great-great niece: Kasja Reitsma; a great-great nephew: Gregory Spain; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother: French Spain; and two sisters: Helen Charles and Pearl Spain. Esther worked in the housekeeping department at Americana until her retirement. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. A graveside service for Esther Underwood will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, December 14, 2007 at Stearns Cemetery in Fithian.
