Esther P Markell

HEGELER- Esther P. (Ligocki) Markell, 88, of Hegeler, IL, passed away at 5:20am on Thursday, September 7, 2006 at the Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL. Mrs. Markell was born on January 24, 1918 in Hegeler, IL, the daughter of Klemens Ligocki and Casmera (Fabich) Ligocki. Both of her parents precede her in death. On November 23, 1939, Esther married Stanley Markell at St. Anthonys Church in Hegeler. He preceded her in death in 1972. Esther will be missed by her son; Richard (Rebecca) Markell of Hegeler, her two grandchildren; Matthew Markell of Champaign, Il, Danielle ( Scott) Greenlee of Westville, her four great- grandchildren; Paige and Erica Markell, Madison and Makenna Greenlee, and Esthers sister; Pearl (John) Ladato of Rochester, NY. Her six brothers and three sisters precede Esther in death. Mrs. Markell was a member of the St. Marys Rosary Society of Westville. She was employed with the Signatrol Company out of Danville, retiring in 1983. She enjoyed knitting, and crocheting. She was an avid Cubs fan and enjoyed spending time with her family. A Catholic Mass service for Mrs. Esther Markell is scheduled for 11:00am on Saturday, September 9, 2006 at St. Marys Catholic Church in Westville. Father David Erickson will officiate. Final resting place will be at Resurrection Cemetery in Danville. Visitation will be held at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel of Westville one hour prior to the mass. Memorial condolences may be made in Esthers name to the St. Marys Catholic Church and/or School.
