GEORGETOWN - Esther Marie (Bonomo) Bedinger, 78, of Georgetown, passed away at 5:30pm, Monday, January 28th, 2008, at Hawthorne Estates, Danville. She was born on February 18th, 1929, in Georgetown, IL, to Joseph and Catherine (Avenatti) Bonomo. She married Alfred Charles Bedinger on August 29th, 1948, at the Friends Church in Georgetown. Esther is survived by: her husband, Alfred Charles Bedinger of Georgetown; her three children, Joan (Steve) Winkle of Georgetown, Alfred Charles Chuck Bedinger II of Byron Center, Michigan, & Mary Ann (Ben) McMahan of Galesburg, IL; her sister, Virginia Stimac of Stickney, IL; and her sister-in-law, Evelyn Bonomo of Bunsenville, IL. She also has seven surviving grandchildren, Brad (Nicole) Winkle of Greensboro, NC, Brian (Laura) Winkle of Georgetown, Alfred Charles Chad Bedinger III of Byron Center, MI, Andrew Bedinger of Byron Center, MI, Chelsea Bedinger of Byron Center, MI, David Winkle & Amanda Winkle of Georgetown; two great grandchildren, Stephanie Winkle of Georgetown & Byron Winkle of Greensboro, NC; as well as, many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph & Catherine Bonomo, two brothers, Ernest Frank Bonomo and Frank Ernest Bonomo, and her daughter, Lori Ann Bedinger. Esther graduated from Georgetown High School in 1946. She worked at Sunbeam, the Sewing factory in Georgetown, the Coat factory in Belgium, Travelers Boat Factory in Danville, and at Danville Metal Stamping where she was a welder until her retirement after 35 years. Esther was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Georgetown, where she played piano, was an elder, and helped wherever needed. She was a Captain of the Georgetown Disaster Team, helped with the Share program, and opened the Civic Center in Georgetown for the walking seniors. Esther enjoyed crafts and spending time with her family and friends. She touched many people with her giving personality, her laughter, kind heart and her love. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. Her memories will be cherished forever. A celebration of the life of Esther will be at 10:00am, Friday, February 1st, 2008, at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, 200 E West St, Georgetown, IL. Reverend Leon Korb will officiate. Visitation will be 5:00pm to 8:00pm, Thursday, January 31st, 2008, at the funeral home and also one hour prior to the service on Friday. Esther will be laid to rest in Georgetown Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in her name to the Alzheimers Association.
