Esther E. Demotte

Esther Elizabeth DeMotte, 89, of Ridge Farm, passed away at 12:25 p.m. Sunday November 4, 2008 at North Logan Health Care Center. She was born on August 16, 1918 in Bondville, IL the daughter of Robert H. and Katherine E. (Smith) Smith. She married Edward DeMotte on December 7, 1946 in Covington, IN. He preceded her in death on April 15, 1995. Survivors include one daughter, Joanne (Donald) Elliott of Danville, two sisters, Irene Williams of Eugene, IN and Marie Smith of Indianapolis, IN, and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Bob Anglemyer. Esther worked as a homecare nurse. She was a member of the Ridge Farm Church of the Nazarene. She loved working in her yard and especially loved her roses. She collected salt and pepper shakers and enjoyed doing puzzle books and putting together puzzles. A celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday November 7, 2007 at Sunsets Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home. Pastor Ken Cameron will officiate. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery in Montezuma, IN. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m., one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
