Esther Boyd

Esther Boyd, 96, of Danville passed away at 9:30 am Wednesday July 21, 2004 at Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Danville. Esther was born July 30, 1907 in Danville the daughter of the late Reuben and Elizea (Declaire) Mariage. Esther married Florent Deketelaire and he preceded her in death and she later married Jack Boyd and he preceded her in death in January of 1966. Survivors include: a daughter Louella Simmons of Danville 1 son George (Marilyn) Boyd of Papillion, NB and a daughter Norma (Robert A.) Beauvois of Oakwood 8 grandkids 8 great grandkids and 6 great great grandkids. 1 daughter Priscilla and 1 grand daughter Kim Lomax 3 brothers Reuben, Hector, and Paul 1 sister Bertha Fenet, and 1nephew Dennis Burchfield Sr. all preceded her in death. Esther worked for many years at Hicks laundry and also at Continental Filling factory in Danville. Esther was a member of Christian Assembly Church in Hillary that her father helped found. Esther's hobbies included, gardening, yardwork, quilting and crocheting. She also enjoyed traveling in Europe and cooking.
