She was born on June 15, 1920, in Georgetown, the daughter of Fred and Cora (Allen) Cornwell, both deceased. Betty was a graduate of Georgetown High School. After graduation, she and her sisters took a train to New York with only 5 cents each to find work. She came back to the area, and was later united in marriage to Marvin A. Bonebrake in 1942. They resided in Georgetown, and owned and operated the L&M Slaughterhouse, along with Lawrence & Mazella Kinderman, from Cayuga, IN. Betty worked at the slaughterhouse well into her 80's, and never grew tired of it. Betty & Marvin had two children, Phyllis & Ronald. Betty had 4 sisters & 4 brothers: Eunice Hall, Ruth Gerchak, Edna Stal, Delbert Cornwell, Leslie Cornwell, George Cornwell, Francis Kiger, & Frank Cornwell. Betty was a member of the First Church of Christ in Georgetown. She enjoyed mowing the yard, gardening, & canning vegetables. She also enjoyed singing & yodeling. She loved watching the Cubs and Wheel of Fortune, doing cross word puzzles, and going to the Wallace 341 Opry to listen to music. Most of all, Betty enjoyed being with her family, and took great pride in listening to her daughter play the piano and watching her granddaughters sporting events. Betty took one day at a time and loved the Lord. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Betty will be missed by: her daughter, Phyllis Fraser of Georgetown; her grandchildren, Kimberly Fraser & Heather Fraser (Aaron Soule) Soule; her great grandchildren, Rubyrae, Annika, & Serena Fraser-Soule; her sister, Edna Stal; and several nieces & nephews.
