Esther A. Beggs, 93, of Danville IL., passed away at 10:30 p.m. February 27, 2014 at Presence United Samaritans Hospital in Danville. Esther was born June 29, 1920 in Rural Hoopeston the daughter of Sam and Nancy Florence (Meadows) Brewington. She is survived by a sister Leah Rutherford and many nieces and nephew. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Harvey, Don, and Lloyd Brewington and one sister. Hazel Renfrow. She graduated from John Greer High School in Hoopeston in 1938 and worked at various grocery stores in Hoopeston. She married John A. Beggs, a school teacher in Westville and an ordained minister on Aug 5, 1972 in Cheneyville, Il. John preceded her in death Dec. 1997. They were married for 25 years. Esther was a faithfull member of Bethel Baptist Church and Kings Kids Sunday School Class of Danville. She enjoyed eating out on different occasions with her Sunday School Class and was class treasurer for many years. After her husband John passed away in 1997 on most weekday mornings you could find her at the former Deluxe Restaurant having coffee and toast and enjoying good conversation and her many trips to Rossville to have lunch with her sister Leah. Services will be at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celbration Home in Danville. A Celebration of Esthers life will be held on, Wednesday afternoon March 5 at 2:30 pm with Pastor Mark Carpenter officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home at 1:pm until 2:30pm. Memorials will be made in Esthers name to Bethel Baptist Church of Danville or donor's choice.
