Erving Lee Johnson

Erving Lee Johnson, of Danville, Illinois, passed away on Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at the age of 63 years at Gardenview Manor (Tilton) Danville, Illinois.

Erving Lee was born on December 8, 1955 in Enid, Mississippi, the son of Rayfield "Ray" Johnson and Minister Creola Brooks Patton Johnson.

Erving Lee thoroughly enjoyed outdoor activities, also enjoyed playing basketball, baseball and football; loved listening to music and singing; was a member of the Johnson Family Singers and the Brothers of Joy Singing Group; enjoyed summer trips with his family and family reunions. Very skilled in repairing automobiles; painting homes; lawn services.

Erving Lee enjoyed attending and participating in multiple church activities with constant dedication and loyalty; was the Deacon of his church where he is a member for many years and was the Creator of the Male Chorus of his church with unwavering participation.

Graduated from Danville High School and later attended college for mechanical training and welding training.

Erving Lee was united in marriage to Clarease Powell on October 31, 1975. From this marital union two sons and one daughter were born.

Erving Lee will be dearly missed and forever remembered by his beloved sons Lee Tawayne (Tameka) Johnson and DeYoun F. (Vianco) Johnson; daughter Cynthia Lashel (Derek) Johnson Butler.

Erving Lee will also be dearly missed and forever remembered by his sister Ophelia (George) Wells, brother Raymon (Anjanette) Johnson, brother Willie M. "Billy" Johnson, brother Robert Johnson, his 20 grandchildren and one great-grandchild, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and all extended family and loving family members and many close friends.

Erving Lee was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Luke Glover and sister-in-law Patricia Glover.
