Ernest Nathan Moore

Ernest Nathan Moore, 88, of Kingman passed away at 12:10 am EST Sunday, March 31, 2024 at Hickory Creek in Crawfordsville.

He was born December 26, 1935 in Newman, Illinois the son of the late Alfred and Bertha (Chapman) Moore.

Survivors include his wife Marva Moore of Cayuga, Indiana; children Malynda (Mike) Ross of Danville, Illinois; Nathan Moore of Georgetown, Illinois and Chris (Stephanie Wyatt) Moore of Danville, Illinois; brother Larry (Jackie) Moore of Cayuga, Indiana, and sisters-in-law June and Melba Moore.

Ernest was preceded in death by one sister; four brothers; grandson Christopher Moore, Jr., and daughter-in-law Marva Fitzwater-Moore.

Ernest worked in the maintenance department at General Motors (Tilton Foundry) until his retirement. He was a veteran of the United States Army and a graduate of Tangier High School. Ernest was a member of the Morgan Horses Association. He enjoyed reading, traveling, berry picking and all animals, especially his dogs.

A private graveside service will be held for his family at Rush Creek Cemetery in Tangier, where Ernest will be laid to rest alongside his family. Sunset Funeral Homes DeVerter Chapel in Cayuga assisted his family with arrangements.
