Eric Joseph Schwalm

Eric Joseph Schwalm, 73, of Champaign, passed away peacefully at his home on July 6, 2025. He was born on July 21, 1951, in Springfield, IL, the son of Charles and Agnes (Benanti) Schwalm.

Eric is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Sharon (Fee) Schwalm, and their children, Melody Schwalm of Rantoul, Nathan Schwalm of Urbana, and Ethan Schwalm of Urbana. He is also survived by his brother, Charles Schwalm Jr. of Canton, IL, and his nieces, Marcie of Orlando, FL, and Ashley of Brownsburg, IN.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Agnes.

Eric's life was marked by unwavering commitment to his family, faith, and community. As a man of faith, he was a proud member of the Meadowbrook Community Church for many years.

In his younger days, Eric found joy in the great outdoors, often embarking on hiking adventures and riding his bike. He also enjoyed baseball and trivia, which showcased his zest for life and his profound curiosity about the world around him. Eric even explored the creative realms of acting and writing, allowing his creativity to shine and inspire those fortunate enough to witness his talents.

A Memorial Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Friday, July 11, 2025, at Meadowbrook Community Church, 1902 S. Duncan Rd. Champaign, IL 61822. A Memorial Service to honor Eric’s life will immediately follow visitation at 6:00 pm at the church.
