Eric Ryan Cooper, 45, of Danville passed away on November 16, 2023, at his home in Danville, IL.
Eric was born on August 9, 1978, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville, IL to David Cooper and Janet (Walker) (Cooper) Myers. He married Teresa Camareno on April 22, 2006.
Survivors include his father, David Cooper of Danville, IL, mother, Janet Myers of Danville, IL, his wife, Teresa Camareno of Ottawa, OH, his children, Dallaz Camareno, Cierra Camareno (Brenden Yocius), Hunter Cooper, Chase Randle-Cooper all of Danville, IL, and Davien Cooper of Ottawa, OH, his grandsons, Landen Camareno and Carter Palmer both of Danville, IL, Miguel Rubio of Champaign IL, a granddaughter, Estrella, soon to be born in December.
Also surviving are his brother, Chad Cooper of Danville, IL, and his nephews and niece, Orlando Cooper of Chicago, IL, Anthony Cooper and Phoenix Jimson both of Danville, IL as well as aunts, Linda Weiss of Papillion, NE and Laura (Michael) Hutchison of Covington, IN, Carol Compton and Kathy Kumler both of Danville, IL, and a host of cousins, great nieces and nephews, and many friends.
Eric is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Cloyd and Eleanor Cooper and maternal grandparents, Joe and Lauretta Walker, his uncles, David Walker, Mike Weiss, Allan Cooper, Terry Drews, and Myron Kumler and a nephew, Jaiden Cooper.
Eric was Baptized on September 3, 1978, and Confirmed on May 3, 1992, both at Trinity Lutheran Church, Danville, IL. He attended Danville Lutheran School from K 8 and graduated in 1992 and graduated from Danville High School in 1996. Eric worked for KFC, Bob Evans, AutoZone, City of Danville, and for the past 10 1/2 years at Allied Waste now Republic Services. He treated his customers well and they often rewarded him with gifts of food and other items.
He loved the St. Louis Cardinals, Chicago Bears, coaching his sons on Little League Baseball and watching his children and grandchildren play soccer, baseball, and basketball. Eric loved his mom and dad, brother, children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins dearly and family was the most important part of his life. He was a Christian and had a deep faith in Christ. He never met a stranger and had the best sense of humor. He could smack talk with the best of them, but they could always feel the love and respect he had for them.
His confirmation verse was "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go." Joshua 1:9
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, November 20, 2023 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 824 E Main Street Danville, Illinois 61832. Pastor Kent Tibben will officiate. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery in Danville, IL. Visitation will be held from 2-4:00 PM on Sunday, November 19, 2023 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville, Illinois, 3940 N Vermilion St. Danville, IL 61834.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to Trinity Lutheran Church, Trinity Lutheran School, or directly to the family.
