Eric Magnuson

Eric Magnuson Jr., 90, of Lake Bluff, IL, formerly of Danville, passed away at 6:10 PM on Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at Midwest Palliative & Hospice Care Center. Eric was born on January 2, 1922 in Danville, the son of Eric and Mayme (Donnelly) Magnuson. He married Charlotte Adamson on December 27, 1944 in Danville. Charlotte preceded him in death in 2003. He is survived by one son- Eric E. Magnuson of Fort Myers, FL, one daughter- Jacqueline (Ty) Plaza of Lake Bluff, IL, one granddaughter- Tiffany (Brandon) Reyes of Lake Bluff, IL and one great-grandchild-Cameron Reyes. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and one sister- Wanda Magnuson. Eric graduated from Danville High then enlisted in the Navy, serving in World War II. He was a steamfitter for the University of Illinois where he retired in 1986. He was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church in Monticello, the Urbana American Legion and the Masonic Lodge. He loved hunting, fishing and traveling in his motor home. A Celebration of Eric's Life will be held on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, A Life Celebration home in Danville with Pastor Ed Stone officiating. A visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00PM before the service at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville.
