Eric Holycross

Eric Holycross, 63, of Danville, passed away at 5:19pm, Saturday, August 19, 2023, at OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center, Danville. He was born on October 11, 1959, in Danville, the son of Milbern and Libby {Hill} Holycross, both deceased. He was united in marriage to Dolores Vilk on April 19, 1980. She will miss him dearly. He is also survived by his children, Nick Holycross and Cassey (Adam) Jenness, both of Westville; his grandchildren, Lane Holycross and Huck Jenness. Eric worked as truck driver for many years with Chuckles, Conway and lastly, AutoZone. He owned his own truck for 10 years. He enjoyed working out in his barn and driving the country. He had many friends through his trucking and didnt know a stranger. He was known to have a good sense of humor and always had a joke and a laugh. He will be fondly remembered for his humor and helpful mentoring he did with others. In his spare time, he enjoyed Westerns, especially with John Wayne. He was a huge Chicago Cubs fan. Eric loved his wife, children, and grandchildren immensely. His legacy will live on in the memories of his family and friends. A celebration of Erics life will be held at 6:00pm, Thursday, August 24, 2023, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Westville, Illinois 414 S State St. Westville, Illinois 61883 with Father Saupp officiating. Visitation will be held from 3:00pm to 6:00pm on Thursday prior to his service at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Westville. The family encourages everyone to wear their favorite Cubs stuff in honor of Eric and memorials may be given in his name to the donors choice of charity.
