Eric Barkman

Eric A. Barkman, of Danville, passed away peacefully in his home , April 24, 2017. He was born in Danville to John and Kathleen (Olson) Barkman on February 3, 1961. He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Sigler(Barkman), three grandchildren, Dylan, Kyleigh, and Ruby, one brother, John Michael Barkman and four sisters, Carla (Anthony) Dake , Priscilla (Neil) Phelps, Emily (Randy) Hiten and Lisa (Bret) Knight and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents. Known to his friends as EB, he worked as a carpenter all his life and was very skilled. He enjoyed woodworking and making models of covered bridges and lighthouses. He wes generous with his talents and was willing to help anyone who in need. In his younger days he was a daredevil with a love for anything that went fast. He built go-carts, mini-bikes, and raced a stock car. EB was an animal lover and found great joy and companionship from his two dogs Cici and Gizmo. EB was a very proud father and grandfather and a music lover as well as a member of the NRA. A Celebration of Eric's Life will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 28, at Crossroads Christian Church, in Danville. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Friday at the Church. Burial will follow the service in Springhill Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to Hospice Hearts pet rescue
