Eric B. Mowery

Danville Eric B. Mowery, 68, of Danville passed away at 8:04 AM on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 at his home. He was born November 7, 1954 in Danville to Kenneth C. and Lotus C. (Johnson) Mowery. He married Vickie L. Nasser on July 7, 1973 in Danville. She survives.

Also surviving are three children, Tracy Mowery of Danville, Kenneth (Laura Leigh) Mowery of Alvin, and Amber (Alberto) Galleguillos of Rossville; six grandchildren, Hunter Krauel, Case Kopacz, Hudson Mowery, Evelyn Mowery, Kamen Galleguillos, and Clayton Galleguillos and Honorary Grandpa to Hillery Montgerard; three siblings, Kenneth W. (Julie) Mowery, Timothy A. (Dann Roth) Mowery, and Vanetta (Richard) Winslow; several brothers and sisters-in-law; and several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Carolyn Mowery-Quarles; in laws, Richard and Evelyn Nasser; and a niece, Beth Marie Nichols.

Eric was a 1972 graduate of Danville High School. After graduation he went to work at General Motors where he stayed until his retirement in 1998. Eric was a street rodder and had restored several cars over the years. He was also a talented craftsman, using his skills for woodworking and even to build his own home. He loved to be outdoors and enjoyed fishing, pheasant hunting, and trapping.

A service to celebrate the life of Eric B. Mowery will be held at 2 PM on Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion St., Danville, IL 61834. Pastor James Blue will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Danville. Visitation will be held from 1-2 PM on Tuesday, also at Sunset in Danville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Childrens Hospital.
