Ena Burroughs Baysinger

Newport, Ind. -- Ena Burroughs Baysinger, 93, of Newport, Indiana, passed away at 10:23 a.m. EDT Saturday, June 4, 2011 at Union Hospital in Terre Haute, Indiana. She was born March 17, 1918 in Newport, Indiana, the daughter of the late George Dewey and Audra Pearman Burroughs. She married William Baysinger on December 14, 1936 in Rockville, Indiana. He preceded her in death on January 10, 1995. Survivors include: one daughter, Loretta(Fred)Pursell of Greencastle, Indiana; two granddaughters, Debra(Tim)Gress and Lisa(David)West; one grandson, Kirk Nave; four great grandchildren; one great great grandson; several step-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one sister, Gloria Wilcoxson and two brothers, George "Bubbles" Burroughs, Jr. and Norman"Ick"Burroughs. Ena worked for 33 years at General Electric in Danville, Illinois retiring in 1980. She attended the Newport Friends Church and was a member of the Newport American Legion Unit #184. Ena was a 1936 graduate of Newport High School. She enjoyed quilting, traveling and visiting with her family and friends. Funeral services: 2 p.m. EDT Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana; Officiating: Pastor Ramona Trover; Burial: Thomas Cemetery, Newport, Indiana; Visitation: Noon EDT Wednesday, June 8, 2011 until time of services at the funeral home.
